Ford GoBike's "Bike Share For All" program currently provides a one-time $5 annual membership for qualifying Bay Area residents. The program also includes a cash payment option for those who do not have a debit or credit card.
If you are a Bay Area resident aged 18 or older with Calfresh, SFMTA (Low Income) Lifeline Passes or PG&E CARE , you qualify for a $5 membership. Learn more about qualifying programs below.
The Fine Print:
- One-time $5 Annual Membership ($5/month in second year)
- Bikes available 24/7/365 in San Francisco, Oakland, Berkeley, Emeryville and San Jose
- Membership includes first 60 minutes of each trip. Rides longer than 60 minutes will be charged extra fees.
- No credit or debit card required. Cash enrollment available when you sign up at select locations.
- Clipper card compatible

CalFresh
What is it?
CalFresh provides monthly food benefits to assist low-income households in purchasing the food they need to maintain adequate nutritional levels.
Who qualifies?
U.S. citizens or Legal Permanent Residents who meet the income requirements are eligible to apply.
You do not have to be on welfare to get CalFresh benefits. Eligibility for CalFresh assistance, as well as the benefit amount, is based on your household’s size and income level.

SFMTA/ Muni Lifeline
What is it?
The Lifeline Pass is a Muni-only monthly pass for qualified customers on a limited income.
Who qualifies?
All San Francisco residents with 2016 gross annual income (before taxes) at or below the levels indicated below are eligible to receive the Lifeline pass:
- 1 member: $24,120
- Each additional person: add $8,360pp
How do I sign up?
Bring a completed application, ID, and proof of income to the Human Services Agency office. Visit the SFMTA website to learn more about required documentation and to download an application.
PG&E CARE
What is it?
The California Alternate Rates for Energy (CARE) Program offers deep discounts on PG&E energy bills for income-eligible households.
Who qualifies?
CARE eligibility is based on public assistance program participation or based on the number of individuals in your household and total gross household income:
